Acknowledgements

We Acknowledge the First Nations of the land in which Castlemaine Safe Space is located on.

We are on Djarra people’s Country, on Dja Dja Wurrung Land.

We pay our respects to Ancestors and Elders, past, present and emerging.

We honour Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s unique cultural and spiritual relationship to Country, Water and Communities.

We Acknowledge and appreciate the care First Nations have taken of Country for hundreds of thousands of years.

We Acknowledge all with a lived experience of suicide – those who have experienced suicidal thoughts, made an attempt on their life, cared for loved ones through crisis, or been bereaved through suicide.

We remember those we have lost to suicide and acknowledge that you matter, you always did, and you always will.

You have left footprints in our hearts and lives forever.

We Acknowledge those amongst the lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and intersex communities who have worked to support the improved health and wellbeing of their peers, children, families, friends, and country.

We honour the elders in the diverse communities of which we are a part and we celebrate the extraordinary diversity of people's bodies, genders, sexualities, and relationships that they represent.
